DeviceAnywhere Extends Google Android G1 Handset Access to Developers Worldwide

Thousands of Developers can now build and test applications directly on Google’s first open source handset from any location

(San Mateo Calif., USA), January 6, 2009 – DeviceAnywhere™, the leading global provider of end-to-end solutions for the mobile development lifecycle, today announced the addition of the Google Android G1, the first handset from the open source Android alliance available on the T-Mobile network.  The Android G1 device is the latest addition to over 1500 handsets offered on the DeviceAnywhere service, which includes popular smartphones such as the iPhone 3G and the Blackberry Bold.

Using DeviceAnywhere to test, monitor, and develop for the Android G1, users from anywhere in the world are now able to interact with the G1 as they would if the device were in their hands. This includes interacting with the device’s touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard, using the one-click Google Search feature, and accessing the device’s high-speed 3.5G network connection and 3.2-megapixel camera.

“We have always been supportive of the wireless industry’s move towards open source,” commented Faraz Syed, CEO of DeviceAnywhere. “We are pleased to offer our developer community a convenient and cost-effective way to develop content and applications for the Android G1 through our T-Mobile Virtual Developer Lab program.”

DeviceAnywhere is a revolutionary online service used by thousands of mobile organizations and their developers. It provides access to real mobile handsets that are each connected to live networks. These devices are accessible remotely over the Internet, allowing users to interact in real time to ensure all development, porting, testing, and monitoring needs are met. The DeviceAnywhere service uses actual, physical handsets to provide developers with the same experiences as having the devices in hand.
