DeviceAnywhere Adds Google's Nexus One to DeviceAnywhere Test Center™
SAN MATEO, Calif., USA (January 11, 2010) -- DeviceAnywhere, the industry leader in end-to-end mobile application testing, today announced that the availability of Google's Nexus One handset as the latest addition to its portfolio of devices accessible via DeviceAnywhere Test Center™, the company’s award winning SaaS offering developers access to real mobile devices over the Internet. The device, available immediately on the T-Mobile USA network, will be available to developers initially through DeviceAnywhere’s Android, AT&T and T-Mobile USA packages.
Google's first self-branded mobile device, which it has dubbed the first "superphone", runs on Android 2.1 and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor. The Nexus One has a number of innovative features, including a voice-enabled “keyboard” for all text fields and advanced personalization options, all of which are available for developers to interact with and test on through the Test Center, as though the device were in their hands.
“Application developers need timely access to next generation devices – faster access means a faster time to market, which is why we’re committed to providing access to the latest handsets available in the market,” said Faraz Syed, CEO and co-founder of DeviceAnywhere. “As ‘superphones’ and smartphones proliferate, and software and applications become increasingly central to the user experience, testing, test automation and monitoring is becoming more critical than ever.
Syed continued: “We have noticed increased interest from developers wanting to test their applications on Android-based devices over the last few months as the device and application ecosystem grows. Now that the Nexus One has arrived and effectively become the flagship Android device, we needed to ensure developers could interact with networked Nexus One devices immediately, no matter where they are based around the world.”
